The Library Foundation of Spokane County raises, manages, and allocates funds to support and enhance the programs, services, materials, technology, and buildings of Spokane County Library District.
We advance our mission by seeking funding from generous private donors through advocacy and fundraising efforts.
Gifts to the Library Foundation do not fund basic library operations. Instead, we work with librarians to determine where private funding can expand and enhance the library’s work, helping the library offer services, programs, and technology that might not be possible otherwise.
Where We Provide Funding
The Library Foundation provides funding to the 10 libraries that make up the Spokane County Library District.
This includes libraries in the following communities and unincorporated areas of Spokane County: Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Fairfield, Medical Lake, Millwood, Moran Prairie, North Spokane, Otis Orchards, and Spokane Valley as well as the mobile library LINC.
In 2025, your generous donations to Library Giving Day, in April, are helping us put books into the hands and homes of kids and teens to kick off Summer Reading. Each youth who registers for Summer Reading receives a new book of their very own that they can keep.
This past year, your donations also provided the following support to library services that benefit and enrich our community:
$10,000 from the Library Giving Day fund for the 2026 Summer Reading program
